October’s Gilbert and Sullivan Festival
A weekend of musical delight’s will be presented in the superb buildings of the Historic Precinct on Saturday 10 and Sunday 11 October 2015.
Saturday 10 October
The Festival will be launched at 10.30am in the Court House by Queen Victoria. This will be followed at 11am by Sullivan’s Singers, a symposium about the composer of these delightful operettas. The Symposium will be led by Jamie Moffat. $10 includes morning tea.
At 2pm in the Town Hall local performers will present The Gondoliers. The audience is invited to sing along and misbehave in true vaudeville fashion. Tickets $25 Children under 12 free.
Again in the Town Hall at 8pm, Gilbert and Sullivan Opera Victoria will present Patience. Tickets $25.
Sunday 11 October
As well as the local market commencing at 8am there will be a Town Picnic starting at 10am in the Gordon Gardens. There will be a cordial competition along with music and rides.
2pm A repeat performance of The Gondoliers in the Town Hall. Tickets $25 Children under 12 free.
